Our In-School Learners and Teachers had a great first week! We wanted to share a few reminders to help keep our school community safe. If your student has symptoms of COVID-19, please keep them home from school for 24 hours or until symptoms resolve. If there is a known case of COVID-19 in your household, notify SLLIS immediately and keep your student at home. Students who may need to quarantine will be able to continue learning virtually until they can safely return to school. Thank you, and have a great weekend!

Hello! In-school learning has begun for the 2020-2021 school year and Virtual Academy will begin on August 17. If you plan to attend Virtual Academy, you can pick up a learning device from the main office at 1881 Pine Street Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM -1:00 PM. Virtual Learners: Don't forget, you can come to SLLIS to pick up your student's learning device today(August 7th) from 1:00pm-5:00pm; on Saturday (August 8th) from 9:00am-2:00pm; or on Monday (August 10th) from 10:00am-2:00pm and 4:00pm-7:00pm. Ring the buzzer by the main lobby entrance to let us know you're here!
We're sorry our back-to-school events have to be virtual this year to keep everyone safe. Teachers will be calling parents soon for introductions and sending Welcome videos to all families! Hello, SLLIS! We want to make you aware of a few changes to start dates for the 2020 Fall Trimester: In-School Learning will continue as planned on August 10 for Kindergarten and August 11 for grades 1-8. Many of our families are counting on this, and SLLIS is prepared. On-site learners will spend August 10-14 learning new health and safety routines and procedures. Virtual Learning will begin on August 17. This allows SLLIS time to train our virtual team to ensure that virtual instruction is high-quality and as effective as possible, and it gives SLLIS time to distribute devices for virtual learners. Because on-site learners will spend the first few days learning routines and safety procedures, virtual learners will not miss out on any days of academic instruction and the learning schedules will remain aligned. Pre-Kindergarten will begin on August 24. The STL Pre-K Cooperative is finalizing licensing measures necessary for running a separate program within SLLIS's building. If you have any questions regarding these changes, please email reopening@sllis.org. We look forward to teaching all of our students again soon!
