At-Home Learning Days (or AMI Days)

ami days

Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) days are designed to ensure that students can continue learning even when they are unable to attend school in person due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances. This plan is intended to support our students’ educational progress during school closures, and we are confident that it will be a positive and effective way to continue their academic journey from home.

What Are AMI Days?

During an AMI day, students will engage in asynchronous (independent) work, with activities provided through ‘Choice Boards’. These activities include differentiated tasks tailored to address student needs in core subjects such as math, reading, writing, science, and social studies, as well as music, art, fine and gross motor skills, and social and language development. They are designed to be both engaging and accessible, ensuring they meet the diverse needs of all students.

We anticipate more AMI days this year. As such, you will receive notifications through automated emails, text messages, and phone calls. Additionally, if we foresee a future AMI day, we will send home printed learning packets to ensure your child can continue their lessons and/or activities.

Please find the grade-level Choice Boards for AMI day assignments/activities below. Click on your child’s grade level link to access the materials:

How You Can Help:

  • Keep an eye on your email and phone for notifications regarding AMI days. Teachers will also send out reminders about assignments and resources.

  • Please assist your child in completing the assignments according to the directions on the Choice Board for their grade level.

We understand that AMI days may present challenges, but rest assured, we are here to support both you and your child throughout this process. Together, we can ensure that learning continues, no matter the circumstances.
