Attention, families in or approaching Middle School! See the attached flier from Navigate STL for support finding and applying to high schools! We will show families how to use the school navigator tool to search high schools by world languages. We urge 7th grade families to join us for this event, but everyone is welcome. The presentation can be in English and Spanish for our bilingual families!

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR OPENS MONDAY! The Scholastic Book Fair is returning to SLLIS on Monday, April 12th. Students in-person will have the opportunity to visit the fair at SLLIS, and we will be running a virtual book fair alongside it for our virtual students. For our in-person students, we are strongly recommending the use of the e-wallet system. This allows students to shop at the bookfair as they would normally but will use their pre-paid account instead of cash. eWallet funds are not refundable. Any unused eWallet funds that remain after the Book Fair ends, or if the Book Fair is cancelled, are available for use in the Scholastic Store Online. Click the link below for more information on both the in-person and virtual book fairs and to learn more about the e-wallet system: https://www.scholastic.com/bf/stlouislanguageimmersion2 Thank you for supporting our student’s love of reading!

SLLIS is excited to announce our partnership with Amazon's Project STEM for Middle School students for next year! Project STEM is a nonprofit organization focused on advancing equity in computer science and STEM education. Through this new program, Middle School students will take Computer Science Explorations 1, which is an introductory computer science course for 6 - 9th grade students. Mapped to CTSA standards, the course covers topics such as problem solving, programming, physical computing, user centered design, and data, while inspiring students as they build their own interactive coding projects, games and animations in Scratch. To learn more about this exciting opportunity for Middle School students at SLLIS, go to https://www.projectstem.org/middle-school/cse1.
