SLLIS has been recognized for the second time this fall for exceptional levels of student growth in English Language Arts.

Last week, SLLIS made the Top 10 list in the “Beating the Odds” Report from the PRiME (Policy Research in Missouri Education) Center. This newest report highlights schools for “beating the odds'' across the state by moving the needle on student learning while serving high concentrations of low-income students. The PRiME research team used Spring 2022 MAP scores to identify the top ten schools in each category, and SLLIS ranks 4th in the state for “EleMiddle” (K-8) schools who are beating the odds in English Language Arts growth.

This announcement comes after the news that SLLIS made the Top 20 List for Statewide Student Growth in November 2022. The Statewide Student Growth Report and the Beating the Odds Report are part of a series of 2022 Growth Reports that examine growth scores on the MAP within the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. SLLIS will be a recipient of the 2022 PRiME Growth Award for being recognized in both Growth Reports.

The PRiME (Policy Research in Missouri Education) Center was established in 2019 as an independent research center housed in the Saint Louis University School of Education.  PRiME’s mission is to provide better evidence on education issues that can support better policies and lead to better outcomes for students and schools in Missouri. The center specializes in generating, collecting and disseminating education policy research in Missouri through blog posts, policy briefs, education reports and profiles, and data tools.
