SLLIS Joins New GAINS Program to Improve Student Growth Across Missouri St. Louis Language Immersion School Selected to Prestigious Cohort of 10 Schools
St. Louis, Mo. (June 22, 2026) St. Louis Language Immersion School is proud to announce it was recently selected to join the Growth, Achievement, and Innovation Network for Schools (GAINS), a program created for a select group of institutions across St. Louis and Kansas City that have demonstrated strong student growth and are working together to share their successful practices with schools across Missouri. The GAINS Network is sponsored by the PRiME Center at Saint Louis University, SchoolSmart KC, and the St. Louis Community Foundation.
Ten schools were chosen for this cohort, where leaders will come together to learn from high-performing peers, dig into their growth data and communicate those results to educators across the state. The GAINS program will also contribute to a statewide research-in-action agenda, with the goal to help schools across Missouri replicate the growth shown by GAINS members.
“At SLLIS, we measure success by the growth our students make every year,” SLLIS Superintendent Dr. Meghan Hill said. “We are incredibly proud that this work has been recognized through our selection to the GAINS network. We look forward to collaborating with other high-growth schools, deepening our understanding of the instructional and organizational practices that fuel student success, and sharing what we learn to help strengthen public education across Missouri.”
Representatives from GAINS schools will meet in person in both St. Louis and Kansas City throughout the year and meet virtually to discuss progress and present important growth data. The leaders will examine the best education practices and how they can share them with schools across the state.
Highlighting its outstanding growth, SLLIS recently received three PRiME Growth Awards from the PRiME Center for promoting outstanding student growth during the 2024-25 school year.
The PRiME Center data shows SLLIS ranked No. 1 of 27 St. Louis Charter Schools in ELA for 2025 and across a three-year growth period from 2022-25. SLLIS also ranked No. 2 and No. 5, respectively, in those same categories across all 74 St. Louis charter and public schools. SLLIS finished No. 3 and No. 4 for 2025 and 2022-25 across all 58 charter schools in Missouri for growth in ELA.
