SLLIS Receives Gateway Globe Award

On Thursday, December 5, the World Affairs Council of St. Louis hosted its annual Gateway Globe Awards Ceremony. The Gateway Globe Awards "are an annual awards program designed to honor those who are connecting the St. Louis region to the world. The Gateway Globe Awards honor people and organizations who inspire us through their efforts to promote global networks, embrace cultural differences, create welcoming policies, and foster global business opportunities" (wacstl.org).

SLLIS is the 2019 recipient of the Gateway Globe Award for Culture in the area of Education. With its mission as a public charter school that provides bilingual education for students in Mandarin, French, and Spanish, SLLIS provides a clear connection between the St. Louis region and the world.

SLLIS Executive Director Meghan Hill and Board Chair Judy Fisher received the award on behalf of SLLIS on Thursday evening. More details about the Gateway Globe awards and the recipients can be found on the World Affair Council’s website: wacstl.org.

Congratulations to the SLLIS Board, leadership team, staff, students, families, and community for this recognition!
