LEAD TEACHER, SPANISH

St. Louis Language Immersion Schools, Inc. in St. Louis, Missouri seeks 3 full-time Lead Teachers, Spanish to plan instruction appropriate to the subject(s), grade level(s), abilities, and cultural background of students; create and organize classroom rules, procedures, and routines; manage student behavior to ensure student learning; establish a culture of high expectations, diversity, cultural sensitivity, and understanding; establish clear content and language objectives for all lessons, units and projects, providing instruction to special needs students in conjunction with the Special Education Consultant to ensure that IEP student goals are being met; provide differentiated instruction as needed; maintain ongoing communication with students and parents about the student’s level of instruction, academic progress, and/or deficiencies; monitor and evaluate student progress regularly; represent the School and program to district, county, state, and/or federal community groups; interact with outside agencies as necessary; teach Summer classes if needed; and perform other duties as assigned.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Language and Literacy, or a closely related field or equivalent combination of education, training or experience as determined by a qualified evaluation service. The position requires near native fluency in spoken and written Spanish and English. A license to teach in Missouri or other state (Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, K-6, or K-8), or valid teaching credentials in the country in which the teacher received his or her training, is also required.
